Experimental Roses

I painted these yesterday. I'm not sure which one I prefer. It's my first time trying to draw flowers in a vase. I wonder if I've put the shadow on the bottom painting on the wrong side?!

I think it's time for me to start the Artist's Way. I've had the book for ages and just felt it was too much work. I mean, three pages of writing a day!?!? I'll have to find a notepad with very small pages, lol.

Maybe I'll change the contract a little to give myself more time to go through the course. I'll let you know how I get on. I'm already excited about the first artist's date. I want to go for a walk on the beach.

I hope everyone had a great break over Easter.

Tulips

I have a few days off over Easter and I painted this today. I deliberately didn't try to make this look 'perfect' and kept it abstract because I don't want to keep judging myself and throwing away what I paint. I really struggle with my inner critic. Does anyone else struggle with this? How do you overcome it?

Postcards!

I've received two Liberate Your Art postcards so far and I love them both! Here they are:

Unfortunately I can't quite read the the name of who sent this but I think it's lovely!

This postcard is from MJ Fisher and I love the green and the buds. Her message, when I read it felt like a big warm hug. Does that make sense?! She's asked if I will send an extra postcard to let her know it has arrived. I will do if I have enough spare ones. I've already organised a few extra swaps.

This third postcard I received from Sarah Calhoun and if you can't quite read the yellow sign on the tree it says, "Adventure without risk is just Disneyland." It really resonates with me. Thanks Sarah. I will send a return postcode soon.
